Lo Podall is an association formed by locals from Pallars who, passionate about outdoor sports and the landscapes of our region, work on the recovery and maintenance of trails for MTB.
Our beginnings date back to 2017 with the organization of the VIBIKE ride, which led us to recover old paths and make them more rideable and fun. The success of the ride and the volunteer spirit made the project grow year after year, opening and connecting new trails while always seeking attractive routes and landscapes. The result of this work is the current TERRITORI LO PODALL, trail network, recognized in specialized media as one of the best places in the country for MTB.
Our main goal is for every cyclist to experience every curve, every berm, every trail section. This is the only way to ensure the continuity of the project: making visitors want to return and encouraging local people, young and old, to keep engaging with the sport.
We also work to establish Pallars Jussà as a leading MTB destination, involving local administrations, businesses, and other entities.
We have always believed that Pallars Jussà has great potential to attract MTB tourism. With this project, we aim to contribute our grain of sand in the fight against depopulation in the region, as the arrival of cyclists can generate wealth and new job opportunities.
We are convinced that this type of tourism is fully compatible with the territory and can grow sustainably, balancing environment, society, and economy. We focus on three main pillars:
Although income has increased through members and collaborations, Lo Podall remains a non-profit association that maintains and consolidates the trails voluntarily.
We want visitors to enjoy the area freely and for free, while also giving back to the territory by supporting local businesses and restaurants. This creates a circular economy benefiting both visitors and the territory.
The circle is completed when businesses benefiting from this tourism return contributions to the association, through voluntary donations or sponsorships. These resources allow us to improve the trails and increase our visibility and influence with authorities and in the MTB community.
ocially, it is impossible to consolidate the project without the consent of landowners, both public and private. We maintain ongoing dialogue and sign agreements that define responsibilities and commitments.
We are aware that tourism can create tensions with traditional lifestyles, so we work to demonstrate compatibility and highlight its importance for the region’s future. At the same time, we encourage visitors to respect the peace of the territory and follow trail rules.
All trail maintenance is carried out manually and with nature-friendly criteria, generating only plant waste. We often adapt the trails to prevent water erosion and encourage cyclists to enjoy the territory in silence and with respect, preserving its essence.
Nevertheless, we are aware that all human activity has an impact; therefore, we carry out compensatory actions, such as installing drinking points for wildlife.
